Political Perceptions

What is the purpose of this study, and who is leading it?

We invite you to participate in a research study aimed at better understanding how contact with people on the political right can influence attitudes toward them.

This study is being conducted by RUGIRA Ketsia (ketsia.rugira@ulb.be) and POWROZNIK Oscar (oscar.powroznik@ulb.be) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), under the supervision of Professor VAN ASSCHE, Faculty of Psychology, Educational Sciences and Speech-Language Pathology. It is part of a master’s thesis in psychological sciences.

Your participation involves answering a series of questions regarding political relationships and perceptions between people with different ideological orientations. The total time required for participation is estimated at 5 minutes.

The recording of your responses to this questionnaire contains no information that could identify you, unless one of the questions explicitly asks for it. To ensure the anonymity of your responses, the questionnaire does not allow you to save your progress or return to it later. We therefore ask that you complete it in a single session.

Participation and withdrawal

Your participation in this research is voluntary. You may choose not to participate, and if you decide to participate, you may stop answering questions or discontinue the task at any time and close your browser window without any repercussions. You may also choose not to answer specific questions.  The researcher must provide you with all necessary explanations regarding this study. You have the right to receive answers to your questions about the procedures before or after the assessment by sending an email to ketsia.rugira@ulb.be or oscar.powroznik@ulb.be.

Data, confidentiality and security

All data collected in this study is anonymous and will be stored confidentially. Neither the researchers nor any third parties will have access to your identity, which cannot be linked to your responses to the questionnaire. Data resulting from your participation in this research may be shared as part of another study related to this research and may be compiled into databases accessible to the scientific community. The data we share is not identifiable, so no one will know which data is yours or even that you participated.
